The Friday Five, 2/9/18: 5 things I've been up to this week

My schedule has been a little off this week so it's felt like a long week. However, there has been a lot of stuff going on which has kept life exciting.

Mazda3
What I've been up to this week:
    1. Appointments, meetings, and events. On Wednesday, I worked from home for a few hours, because I went downtown to Wahlburgers for a tasting of the new Impossible Burger, which is 100% vegetarian. I also had a dentist appointment that day. Lots of driving this week, however I have been ...
    2. Reviewing a car. This is definitely a great week to be driving the Mazda3, because it has snow tires (and we just got WALLOPED with snow last night - about 4-6 inches maybe) as well as a heated steering wheel and heated seats. Perks that my personal car does not have, ha ...
    3. Dining out and also cooking. Last week I tried a recipe for Kung Pao Brussels Sprouts - the sauce was delicious, but the sprouts came out kind of soft instead of crispy. I also got a 1-week subscription to Hello Fresh, and I made my first meal yesterday: Balsamic Fig chicken, which was very good. Birmingham Restaurant Week continued this week, and coworkers and I went to Rugby Grille yesterday, for the first time, which at $15 for lunch was an amazing deal (and it ends today, so check it out!).
    4. Seeing movies. Last weekend my boyfriend and I finally saw Call Me By Your Name ... that's a hard movie to rate. Beautiful scenery but it was very, very slow. I'd maybe give it 3/5? On Wednesday, I saw a screening of Fifty Shades Freed, which I'd give 3/5, but it's fun for fans of the series, like I am. Peter Rabbit is out today, too, which I rated 4.5/5, and you can check out my review here.
    5. More travel plans! There's no official Yelp Spring Break this year, so Yelpers are working hard to create a few UYSB's (Unofficial Yelp Spring Breaks) all over the country. I'm hoping to attend either the Chicago one—which would definitely be easiest for me to get to—or the Savannah, GA one. I went to Savannah with an Atlanta friend in 2013, and it's such a beautiful city. Some friends and I are also planning for our annual Grand Haven, MI girls trip, so I've been looking at Airbnb's for that, for sometime in August.
