The perfect Father's Day gift: Jack Ryan: Shadow Recruit, in stores on June 10th! #JackRyanBluRay
I reviewed Jack Ryan: Shadow Recruit back in January, and it was a great action-packed film. The movie is coming to DVD and Blu-ray on June 10th, and it would make a fantastic gift for Father's Day. The film stars Chris Pine, Keira Knightley, and Kevin Costner, along with other A-listers, and it's a fast-paced thriller.
If your dad is a movie fan like mine is, you could pair Jack Ryan with a few other action movies and make a day out of it - no trip to the theater required!

The Taking of Pelham 1 2 3 (2009 version) is another great roller-coaster ride of a thriller, and would be the perfect movie to watch before or after Jack Ryan.
If your father really loves action movies, why stop at two films - how about adding Inception and 3 Days to Kill to your "must watch" list? Inception continues to be one of my favorite action/sci-fi films, and 3 Days to Kill is similar to Jack Ryan in that it has a lot of things going on, and Kevin Costner is fantastic in it.
But of course, to get the party started, you're going to need to head to Walmart first - they're offering the Blu-ray release of Jack Ryan for only $12.96 (that's a bargain!) and it also includes $15 off sports tickets at Ticketmaster - another activity to do with your dad on Father's Day weekend, perhaps? Just make sure you head there sometime between 6/10 and 6/14, as this special offer is only valid for those dates. Two great movies and $15 off sports tickets, for one low price - that's an awesome deal.
And if you're a fan of fast cars (or the men that enjoy them!), you can pick up a Walmart Exclusive pack, which includes both Jack Ryan and The Italian Job for $19.96 - the list price for this two-pack is $49.98, so that's another great deal.
What do you and your father do on Father's Day? Do you have any traditions that you like?
I may have to pick this up for my dad! This year he asked my sister & I to get him a tool he's been eye balling. We'll probably be doing a cookout at our house and hangout, it seems to be my dad's new favorite hobby LOL
ReplyDelete$12.96 for that Jack Ryan film is a steal at Walmart. I swear I will miss Harrison Ford in this movie (even if he couldn't have played the character!)
ReplyDeleteYes, it is - most Blu-rays these days are $25+. :)
DeleteLove that the bonus tickets pays for the cost of the movie. That's huge!
ReplyDeleteCan't wait to see this one. I think we'll watch it for a Father's Day movie night.
ReplyDeleteMy dad's birthday is this week, I will be giving him a bunh of blu-rays, I just may have to add this one to the list!
ReplyDeleteI so want to watch this movie with my husband - he is a fan!
ReplyDeleteI loved this film. Chris Pine is just YUM. That's a great deal !
ReplyDeleteMy dad was more of a reader than a movie watcher - unless it was old black and white movies. That is a really good price though - BluRays are usually twice as expensive!
ReplyDeleteMovies are a hit here at our house, when we can steal the TV back from the kiddos.
ReplyDeleteI noticed a 10% Cartwheel deal for the Jack Ryan film as well (from Target). Gotta love Kiera Knightly!
