The Friday Five, 3/22/19: 5 things I've been up to this week

This past week, I was in Miami from Saturday through Tuesday, which was a nice respite from the Michigan weather. We had great weather (sunny, 75-80 degrees) on Saturday, Sunday, and Monday; unfortunately, on Tuesday it was cloudy and rainy, but that was the day we were leaving, anyways.

What I've been up to this week:
  1. Traveling. Miami was a lot of fun although we mostly just went to the pool and beach (can't complain about that...) and did a little shopping. We were north of North Beach and it was a pretty quiet area. We went to South Beach on Monday to the Lincoln Road Mall, and did some shopping and had a late lunch there.
  2. Seeing movies. Yesterday I saw Five Feet Apart, and although I knew I'd need Kleenex for it, I didn't know I'd need an entire (figurative) box. I'd give it 4 out of 5 stars even though it drags a bit near the end. On Sunday, I'm putting on my 'big girl pants' and will go see Us, even though I don't usually do horror movies ... I loved Get Out and this one looks intriguing as well.
  3. Hanging out with friends. On Wednesday, the day after I got back from Miami, about 12 friends and I went to the Cheesecake Factory, in Novi, for dinner. I wasn't sure how logistics would work for this because CF isn't a big restaurant, but they somehow managed to get us all seated in the bar area. I always partake in their Cyber Monday special—buy a $25 e-gift card, get two free "Slices of Joy," aka two slices of cheesecake—and I used both of those, because otherwise they expire on 3/31.
  4. Prepping for next week's trip. Next week I am going to Chicago for work, for ProFood Tech, and I have been trying to make appointments with companies so that they can tell me about their new technology and equipment.
  5. Making poor eating decisions. Yesterday I really should have cooked a Plated meal for dinner—I received a Plated box yesterday—but I was tired and not really in the mood, so instead I made and ate an entire pizza. Granted, it was a Spinato's broccoli (thin) crust pizza, but still. Today for my work lunch I'm going to bring an ALDI chicken and quinoa bowl instead, in an attempt to eat healthily, even though I'm going out for dinner later.
