The Friday Five, 4/26/19: 5 things I've been up to this week

This week has seemed really long, for some reason, so I'm glad it's Friday. Aka Avengers day, for me!

What I've been up to this week:

  1. Hanging out with friends. Last Thursday, an Ann Arbor friend came in to visit, and she and myself and four other friends went to go see Wannabe, a Spice Girls tribute group, at the Magic Bag in Ferndale, which was a fun show. We also ate dinner at Bobcat Bonnie's beforehand. On Friday, some friends and I attended a raclette party, which is basically like fancier cheese fondue, and that was delicious.
  2. Attending an influencer event. On Wednesday, a friend and I checked out Rusty Bucket (the Bingham Farms, MI location) and it has to be one of the most sumptuous influencer events I've been to ... they just kept feeding us. Eventually I had to stop eating! I'm giving away a $25 Rusty Bucket gift card on Instagram, so make sure to check that out here. Rusty Bucket gave us an early sneak peek at their spring menu, which debuts on April 29th.
  3. Attending a Yelp event. On Saturday, a friend and I went to a botanicals event, through Yelp, which was hosted at Tribe Detroit in Warren—a beautiful event space. We each left with our own rollerball scent, and mine had apricot, coriander, and I believe one other spice in it.
  4. Seeing movies. On Sunday, my parents and I met up for Easter, and did MOD Pizza and also saw Penguins, which I'd give 4/5 stars. On Saturday, I trekked over to the Forum to see The Aftermath, which I would give 3.5/5 stars; it would have been 4/5 for me except it's a bit slow. I'm seeing Avengers: Endgame tonight and am hoping I get a spot in the theater parking lot ... when I got home last night, my street was jammed with cars, and I didn't realize until later that it was probably because I live across the street from a movie theater (whose lot was most likely full).
  5. Cooking. I had Blue Apron last week, and was very excited to make its Chicago-style deep dish pizza ... unfortunately, the dough wouldn't stretch across my cast iron pan, so I had to make a half-pizza instead. It was still good but I was a little disappointed. I also have Home Chef this week, and I made myself a beef and noodles stir-fry a few days ago; this weekend I have a mojito lime chicken to make, and also steak with pesto butter.
