The Friday Five, 6/21/19: 5 things I've been up to this week

I've mostly just been traveling over the past week: I got back from RI on Wednesday, and played catchup at work yesterday. This weekend I have a birthday party to attend (dinner, etc.) plus the Walled Lake fireworks tomorrow night, and I'm going to see Toy Story 4 on Sunday.

What I've been up to this week:
  1. Traveling. I was in Rhode Island for a week, from Wednesday 6/12 through Wednesday 6/19, and I think it was a much needed reset for myself. My fevers "magically" went away the week before, for some reason (fingers crossed), which was also good. I mostly just watched a lot of Netflix—I have a new show I'm watching, called Imposters, which is really good—and hung out with my aunt and cousins.
  2. Cooking. I ordered a Hello Fresh box for us while I was there, and I cooked and my aunt cleaned up (which was great, because I hate cleaning up, lol). Pictured above are the pork bulgogi meatballs that I made, and we also had steak tacos and a honey sesame chicken.
  3. Eating out. I had a lot of tasty meals in RI, including one at Spain of Narragansett, which is one of my favorite RI restaurants. When I went to MA to visit my cousins on that side of the family, I also met up with a Birthright friend at Crescent Ridge—comparable to Guernsey's, from this area, as they make all of their ice cream on site, I believe—and it was very tasty.
  4. Seeing a musical. On Saturday, my two cousins and my aunt and I went to see Love & Other Fables, at Theatre by the Sea. I went to this theater last year and it has a very cool setup—I think it used to be a barn or something like that. The show was just okay but it was cute.
  5. NOT getting Silver Medallion status on Delta. I thought for sure that this trip would put me over, for MQDs (Medallion Qualification Dollars), but I forgot that I partially booked it with miles ... bummer (if you use miles, you don't get any credit for the trip). I'm literally like 42 MQDs away from Silver. I head to Louisville next month for work though and that should do it :) I'm pretty excited because I've never had status on Delta before. Delta did upgrade me to an exit row seat randomly on my way to RI though, which was nice—more leg room.
  6. Seeing movies. My aunt and I saw Late Night while I was in RI, which I really liked—I'd give it 4/5 stars, and both Emma Thompson and Mindy Kaling were great in it. It kind of had a Devil Wears Prada vibe, which I also liked. I'm tentatively seeing The Dead Don't Die tonight before my friend's birthday dinner, and I'll be seeing Toy Story 4 on Sunday. I still want to see Men In Black: International even though it has terrible reviews, and maybe John Wick and Godzilla (which also has terrible reviews ...) if they're still around, next week or the week after, maybe.
