Movie Review and GIVEAWAY: Lilo & Stitch (2025), now available on digital {ends 8/1}

I saw the new Lilo & Stitch live-action adaptation back in late May, in theaters, and really enjoyed it—more so than the original, actually, which came out in 2002 (and which I rewatched the day before seeing this one).

One of my lucky readers will win a digital code for the movie! See below for details.

About the movie:

Disney’s Lilo & Stitch has officially crossed $1 billion at the global box office, making it the first Motion Picture Association (MPA) title of 2025 to reach the milestone. Lilo & Stitch movie review 2025

My review:

I really liked this movie—in general, I find a lot of the Disney live-action movies to not be as good as their predecessors, with some exceptions (Aladdin, for one, I really enjoyed). This film was very sweet and having a live-action Stitch was not as weird as I was expecting it to be—he just looks very fuzzy.

The acting was great here, too, especially Lilo (relative newcomer Maia Kealoha), as a little girl who just wanted a friend.

I'd recommend this movie for anyone who enjoyed the first one—but you don't have to have previously seen the first one to be able to enjoy this one. I actually rewatched the first one (from 2002) a day or two before seeing this one, and I enjoyed this one more—it was funnier than I expected, too, with some jokes throughout.

3.5/5 stars.
