The Friday Five, 4/20/18: 5 things I've been up to this week

This has been a busy week travel-wise for me - I'm writing this on Thursday morning, at home, but from Tuesday night through Wednesday night I was in Fort Worth, TX, for a work trip, and this morning I'm embarking upon my first Unofficial Yelp Spring Break trip of the year, to Chicago. I'm taking Amtrak there and Megabus back - first time on Megabus, for me, and I don't believe I've rode Amtrak since 2012 or so.

Got my In-N-Out fix while in Texas! Last time I had been was 2016 in LA.

What I've been up to this week:

  1. Traveling. Like I mentioned before, I was in Fort Worth for a little less than 24 hours. I flew into DAL (Dallas Love Field) on Southwest—only $71 one-way!—and flew back through DFW, on Delta, on a tiny plane (20 rows, 2x2 seats in each row) that tall people would have had issues with (I'm 5'5" or so). Today, a friend and I are headed to Chicago for UYSB, and will be there throughout the weekend.
  2. Seeing movies. I know I say this on every Friday Five, but I again saw quite a few movies this week. Last Friday, I saw Finding Your Feet; on Saturday, I saw Isle of Dogs; and on Sunday, I saw Rampage. I'd actually give all of them 3.5 out of 5 stars, but I will say the only one I'm still thinking about, about a week later now, is Isle of Dogs ... definitely a Wes Anderson movie (aka quirky, or unique).
  3. Meeting Mark Wahlberg and checking out the new Taylor Wahlburgers. Click here for all the details on that.
  4. Cooking. I cooked a cherry pork chops recipe from Hello Fresh on Saturday afternoon (and had leftovers for Monday's lunch, yay) and my boyfriend and I cooked Hello Fresh mole tacos on Sunday night. Both were very tasty.
  5. Wishing for warm weather. Like most of Michigan, I'm getting pretty sick of this faux spring we've been having—if you don't know, it's been snowing on and off, although nothing accumulates—and so my 24 hour trip to Fort Worth was pretty nice, weather-wise, though I'm hoping it warms up soon. Weather.com says it's going up to the 50s-60s after this weekend, which should be great.
