The Friday Five, 3/27/26: 5 things I've been up to this week

Well this week flew by, and it's suddenly the end of March! Today will be busy because I am both dropping off and picking up Baby K at daycare, and I also have PT at 9am ... I usually have it on Wednesdays but had to move it this week.

What I've been up to this week:
  1. Working in the office. The last time I worked at my company's office (in Birmingham) was in July, because Baby K came early in August; I was on maternity leave until early November; my company then said I could come back in for February, but Baby K was sick the day I had signed up for; and lo and behold, it's now March. We have an office dog, and he was there yesterday (a bulldog), so that was fun, and I also got to go to La Pecora Nera for lunch—they have deli sandwiches, and last time I was there (just to get a cannoli), I was pregnant, so I couldn't have deli meat. They also give you a free cannoli if you sign up for their app, FYI, and they have three locations (that one, in Birmingham; one in Detroit; and one in downtown Farmington). I also stopped by Paris Baguette quickly and got my wedding rings cleaned (all during lunch).
  2. Watching TV shows. Age of Attraction aired its finale on Netflix this week, and I was wondering if they'd be doing a reunion, like Love is Blind and their similar shows do ... The Viall Files (Nick Viall's [podcast? show?]) will be doing one on April 1. I also started watching The Madison, on Paramount+, with Michelle Pfeiffer, and it's pretty good, and I binged Love Story (the JFK Jr./Carolyn Bessette story) on Hulu and that was fabulous ... I was glad I waited so I could watch most of the episodes, I believe the finale is airing today.
  3. Eating out/getting takeout and delivery. I believe we got The Great Greek at some point this week, with the BOGO deal, but that may have been the week before, I forget. I had errands to run last Saturday so I got us Culver's takeout, but because I used the app, I actually had to go inside to get my food, which is inconvenient ... I had some rewards points to use for free cheese curds, though, hence why I used the app to order, for the first time. We got Noori via Doordash last night, which is always tasty, and I also went to La Pecora Nera (as mentioned above) for lunch since I was working at the office.
  4. Getting a shingles shot. Because I'm immunocompromised, my GI doctor had wanted me to get this a few years ago, and I think when I checked it out with my health insurance, it was not covered (since I'm not 50 years old), so it would've been like $200 per shot. I guess now if you are immunocompromised, a lot of insurances cover it, so it was free! I went to CVS and got it done on Tuesday before daycare pickup, and my arm definitely hurt a lot in the days following, but today is Friday and it doesn't hurt as much ... I would say it was similar to how my arm felt after my first COVID shot, just very sore. There's a second shot I'll have to get in May, also.
  5. Doing errands. This one is kinda boring, but last week I went to Panera (for my Sip Club drinks), Costco for gas and also for groceries, and then grabbed us Culver's, as mentioned above. I don't get to go ~in~ to Costco very much, though—it's usually just for gas—and it's always fun to see what they have for sale. I finally saw the 10-pound Maud Borup gigantic Easter Bunny—it's like $130 I believe, and it's two feet tall, we wrote about it for work—and I bought some Rana ready-made pasta dishes, including the one pictured above, which was delicious, it was some sort of tomato sauce.
