Upcoming: The Phantom of the Opera at Detroit Opera House, January 11-22, 2017

I'm ridiculously excited to see this in Detroit this January - not only is the press night on my birthday, but I've NEVER seen Phantom of the Opera performed live. The 2004 movie was great, as well, and is one of my favorite musicals-to-movie adaptations.

Tickets are now on sale, and can be bought at Ticketmaster (via phone or online), at www.broadwayindetroit.com, or at the Detroit Opera House.

About the show:
Cameron Mackintosh’s spectacular new production of Andrew Lloyd Webber’s THE PHANTOM OF THE OPERA will go on sale Sunday, October 9 for an engagement at the Detroit Opera House, January 11 – 22, 2017. With newly reinvented staging and stunning scenic design, this new version of PHANTOM is performed by a cast and orchestra of 52, making this one of the largest productions on tour in North America. Tickets will be available at all Ticketmaster locations, by phone at 1-800-982-2787, online at www.broadwayindetroit.com or www.ticketmaster.com, and The Fisher Theatre box office. Based on the classic novel Le Fantôme de L’Opéra by Gaston Leroux, THE PHANTOM OF THE OPERA tells the story of a masked figure who lurks beneath the catacombs of the Paris Opera House, exercising a reign of terror over all who inhabit it. He falls madly in love with an innocent young soprano, Christine, and devotes himself to creating a new star by nurturing her extraordinary talents and by employing all of the devious methods at his command.

• Tuesday performance at 8:00 p.m.
• Wednesday through Saturday evening performances at 8:00 p.m.
• Saturday & Sunday matinees at 2:00 p.m.
• Sunday evening performances at 7:30 p.m.
• Thursday, Jan. 12 matinee at 1:00 p.m.
