You can now purchase Walking Dead wine! I'm a huge Walking Dead fan, so when I found out about this, I headed to my local store to buy both varieties, Blood Red and Cabernet Sauvignon. The Walking Dead wine can be found at Kroger, Ralph's, and Fred Meyer.

"You only live twice" is definitely a catchy tagline, and caught my attention.

What is very cool about this wine brand is that once you download the Living Wine Labels app on your smartphone, there is an augmented reality experience available for it—no special glasses required. The app is free and available on both the Google Play store and Apple store.

When I got home from the store, I immediately downloaded the app to see this in action.

The app will work with either bottle, if you decide to only purchase one, but if you purchase both, the two bottles actually interact together, which was awesome.

Once you download the app, you must download the Walking Dead experience—the app has a few "experiences" based on what brand of its wine you purchased.

Once you download The Walking Dead experience, you are ready to go. The app will read the label(s) on the wine bottles you purchased and go from there.

I am no stranger to AR, but I have to admit that this was very cool. As you can see, that's my living room table above—same one in the previous picture in this post—and Rick Grimes and a walker (Walking Dead's phrase for "zombie") have come out of the bottles to fight!

The two literally walked around on my table before Rick Grimes, of course, ended up killing the walker and saving his own life.

As you can see in the picture above, the app will recognize if you have one bottle out or two. If you have one bottle of the Cabernet Sauvignon, a walker will "smash" out of the bottle; if you just have the Blood Red variety, Rick Grimes will come out of the bottle; and if you have both, they will battle each other!

This would definitely be fun if you have fans of The Walking Dead over for a get-together, as it was neat to watch this play out on my phone.

My boyfriend and I usually cook Sunday dinner together, so we decided to enjoy the Cabernet Sauvignon with some steak—actually a Gobble meal that was easy to put together. The red wine paired very well with the steak, and both of us enjoyed it.
