The Friday Five, 11/16/18: 5 things I've been up to this week

This is the first week I've truly been busy ... I had a lot of things going on and this weekend I have a lot of friend activities going on, as well.

What I've been up to this week:
  1. Attending influencer events. Last Friday, I drove to the South Lyon Kroger to take part in a Home Chef event, which was a lot of fun. One of my friends lives in South Lyon, so she was my +1 for it. We made their Chicken Fajitas meal, which was super easy and also quick to make; my friend is a vegetarian, so I ate the chicken with veggies and she just had veggie fajitas. Kroger was extremely generous and let us take home all the utensils pictured above, too, so I now own those plus a new cutting board!
On Sunday, I got to check out the new Brome Burger in Detroit—I have been to the Dearborn location a few times now, but the Detroit one was new for me. That was through Zipkick, a new influencer community that I've just joined, and we got to sample some of their newer menu items, as well as a few older ones, like their Wild Mushroom burger (my favorite there).
  2. Eating out / attending eating events. On Friday after the Kroger event, my friend and I got some peanut butter pie in downtown South Lyon. On Monday, I attended a Yelp Detroit event at Crispelli's in West Bloomfield; I had been there before, and the pizza is delicious (though I wish the event had been at the Troy location, since it's a 5-minute drive for me!). On Tuesday, my boyfriend and I went to Ruth's Chris for their happy hour deals ($9 steak sandwich! Bar area only), and on Wednesday, my parents and I went to Maggiano's to celebrate their anniversary.
  3. Seeing Bohemian Rhapsody ... finally! And it was worth the wait. I'd give it 4.5/5 stars, and Rami Malek was amazing as Freddie Mercury.
  4. Attending a birthday party. A Meetup friend had a small birthday get-together on Saturday, and I attended that. We played a few board games which was fun, too—one was a game where you had to think of songs and then sing them, and another was called Codenames, which I've played before and which is fun.
  5. Having bubble tea with coworkers. Kung Fu Tea opened in Sterling Heights (Maple/Dequindre) a few months ago, and I had only been once, so I proposed to coworkers that we take a visit there. This time I got the Thai milk tea, which was just okay; last time I got regular milk tea and liked it better. I believe their milk teas are non-dairy, as well, which normally would be great for me, but for some reason my stomach wasn't happy yesterday with it.
