The Friday Five, 7/12/19: 5 things I've been up to this week

This will be a quick Friday Five because we are off to Portage shortly to visit friends. We only have today and tomorrow but it's usually a good time, with lots of games and food ... we are tentatively going to The Southerner in Saugatuck for dinner tonight, which is one of my favorite Michigan restaurants.

What I've been up to this week:
  1. Eating out and cooking. Probably eating out a bit too much ... last Saturday we went to M.C. Wiches in Ferndale, before a movie, and I forgot how good their sandwiches are, albeit a little pricey—a 7-inch sandwich is about $10.50-$11.50, and their 14-inch sandwiches are like $18. On Sunday, I went to Library Pub (West Bloomfield) with my parents and we had the pizza that you see above, which was tasty; I had a Groupon deal for that, which is still available for purchase. Last night we had dinner at the revamped COMO's, in Ferndale, which was also very good pizza. I had a Dinnerly box delivery last week and Plated this week (they gave me a 40% off deal, otherwise Plated is like $71/week which is way too much for me), so I was cooking a bit too.
  2. Seeing movies. Of course. Last Saturday we saw Shaft, which was fun but forgettable; I'd give it 3/5 stars. I saw Spider-Man: Far from Home again on Wednesday, but this time in 3D, and I enjoyed it again; I'd give it 4/5 stars, whereas I gave it 4.5/5 stars the first time. However, picture-wise it was better in EMAX (Emagine's version of IMAX) vs. in 3D, in my opinion. Yesterday we saw Stuber, which wasn't as funny as I thought it would be, but still pretty funny—I'd give it 3.75/5 stars, and it's a fun comedy worth seeing.
  3. Hanging out with friends. Last Friday, a friend did a get-together at the marina where her family has a membership, and then we had a barbecue at her house in Waterford afterwards. On Sunday, a friend had a baby shower—what's funny is that within the last 12 months or so, this has been the THIRD baby shower I've attended, and before that I had never been to one before.
  4. Work potluck. Yesterday the art department at work had a potluck, and everyone was invited. One of my friends made HOMEMADE ice cream, in chocolate amaretto and vanilla peanut butter chip flavors, and I brought in some Aldi (fake) Girl Scout cookies, too. Everything was very tasty.
  5. Launched a giveaway for Baby Shark Live! Make sure to check that out here, it ends Tuesday, July 16th and doesn't have many entries yet. One of my readers will win a 4-pack of tickets to the show.
