The Friday Five, 2/21/20: 5 things I've been up to this week

This week went by fast but also slowly, for some reason. I had to drive to Ann Arbor on Wednesday for my first doctor's appointment with a new UM doctor, and because of that my Thursday was super busy.

What I've been up to this week:
  1. Eating out. Way too much, again. Last Friday we were supposed to go to Giovanni's for our Valentine's Day celebration but because of my food poisoning we actually postponed it to tonight, so I'm excited to try it out. On Saturday we used my last Groupon for Kaizen Ramen, in Royal Oak, and on Tuesday I went to Granite City with a friend for their happy hour, before a show downtown. On Thursday, I had Chick-fil-A for lunch—I don't like supporting them but I'll admit their food is delicious, and the app gave me a free sandwich, for some reason—and met up with friends at Browndog Barlor, in Farmington, for dinner.
  2. Having my last massage. Back during Black Friday, I bought a $35 deal for MassageLuXe, in Troy, and shortly after that I signed up for their membership, because the first massage after that was $10 and then they reverted to the $65 "regular" price. $65/month is unfortunately not sustainable for me so I only kept the membership for those two massages, but they were SO nice. I had my last ($65) one on Sunday ... I'm always super relaxed afterwards. Usually I only get about one massage a year, and usually through a Groupon deal.
  3. Seeing Charlie and the Chocolate Factory at the Opera House. On Tuesday, a friend and I went to the opening night of Charlie, and it was very cute. I'm a big fan of the movie (the Gene Wilder version, specifically) and the actor who played Willy Wonka, as well as the one who played Charlie, were very good. I'd recommend it for kids, especially.
  4. Cooking. I finished up a Hello Fresh box last week and had EveryPlate this week. I also received a Home Chef box on Wednesday (for free, too! $25 off from them to reactivate, and $35 off because a friend used my referral link) so I'll be cooking some of those meals this weekend.
  5. Physical therapy. I started PT for my back a few weeks ago, and I'm supposed to be going 2x per week but so far I've only gone 3x (to be fair, it was scheduled last Thursday and that was my food poisoning day, so obviously I had to cancel). I'm hoping it helps.
