The Friday Five, 10/21/22: 5 things I've been up to this week

This week hasn't been super busy, which has been nice; last weekend I didn't do much except see my parents on Saturday, and did some errands on Sunday. This weekend I'm seeing Wheel of Fortune Live, at the Fox tomorrow, and hanging with friends on Sunday.

What I've been up to this week:
  1. Going out to eat. Last Friday, I finally got to try the new Curderburger, at Culver's, which is basically their regular burger with a GIANT cheese curd (fried) on top. I love their regular cheese curds so I was really hyped to try this one (see the reel here). Honestly, I thought it was tasty, but I think I would have preferred a regular sandwich with only the giant fried cheese curd (or, as someone on Twitter messaged me, a burger with the curd as the bun! Similar to what Ale Mary's in Royal Oak does with its Fat Dan burger, which is a burger sandwiched by two fried mac & cheese buns, essentially). I'd give it 3.5/5, it's worth trying (it's at Culver's till 10/31) but I'll stick to my side order of cheese curds.
Also, on Saturday my mom and I went to Noodles in Northville for their 50% off deal, the Noodles app is running that deal every weekend in October; and on Sunday, my boyfriend and I went to Outback for dinner, which is always tasty.
  2. Cooking. I had Dinnerly last week and also this week. Last night I made the no chop pesto chicken pasta with sundried tomatoes that you see pictured above. Next week I also am getting Dinnerly, because they have been giving me some good deals as of late.
  3. Watching movies and TV shows. Yesterday I went to the theater to see Ticket to Paradise, which was fun and fluffy; I'd give it 3.5/5 stars. Today I am seeing Black Adam, so I'll tweet my review of that later. As for TV shows, I've been watching MAFS, The Good Doctor, Call Me Kat, and the new season of Love is Blind, which dropped Wednesday on Netflix with four episodes (one of my "guilty pleasure" reality shows, along with MAFS aka Married at First Sight). Handmaid's Tale was especially good this week too, as was Abbott Elementary, and I've still been watching Reboot on Hulu as well. I need to finish Ramy on Hulu at some point too but it's not one of my "top shows," aka a priority, to watch. I also have one last episode of Industry, on HBO Max, to watch; I've been slow at watching that one because each episode is about an hour long.
  4. Errands. On Sunday we had to go to Kohls and DSW so that my boyfriend could return some things, and I looked around while I was there. At DSW I ended up getting some very comfy Clarks sandals for my CA work trip next month; they were a bit pricey, but Clarks usually last forever, so I'm fine with that.
  5. Planning another trip. My boyfriend and I are going to go to Houston in November right before Thanksgiving, because I have about $432 MQD (Medallion Qualification Dollars) to spend on Delta to maintain my Silver Medallion status with them. That equates to about $500 in airfare, as the MQD's are applied pre-tax. Luckily, I had my $100 reward to use with them, since I have their credit card, so it came out to a bit less than that. Should be an interesting trip, we are going to go to the Texas Renaissance Fair and also NASA, and I've been to San Antonio and Austin before (SA twice, one for Yelp Spring Break and once for work, and Austin, or really, right outside Austin, once for work) but never Houston.
