Welcome to Friday, where we get snow every week, always at the end of the week. Looks like Clawson has maybe 2-3 inches so far, but it's still snowing now, which is a problem because we are going to Cincinnati tomorrow for the weekend, for a friend's birthday dinner.

New Holland Dragon's Milk Reserve beers |
What I've been up to this week:
- New Holland Dragon's Milk Reserve tasting. My boyfriend has a lot of foodie/drink friends, like myself, and two of them had been collecting Dragon's Milk Reserve beers—check out the picture, ten different varieties—for a bit. We had a tasting party with them, another couple, and ourselves, and they were pretty good. I'm not a huge beer person but I think Maple Cinnamon, the breakfast one, was my favorite.
- Cooking. I had Dinnerly last week and also this week, and I am getting Marley Spoon (its parent company) on discount this next week. Although Dinnerly doesn't give you printed recipe cards (boo), they are easy enough to print off their site, or you can use the app for directions. We had a lot of pretty good recipes this week, and the one pictured below is Teriyaki Beef with Coconut Rice and Sesame Cucumber Salad. The rice was extremely sweet and delicious; it reminded me of mango sticky rice (and indeed was the same thing, with coconut milk) minus the mango.
- Watching movies and TV shows. I was supposed to see Creed III yesterday but my friend whom I was going with was sick; I was going to pivot and go see Champions at John R but I was pretty tired, so I saw Women Talking on Blu-ray at home instead. It was not what I was expecting and was very good; I'd give it 4.25/5, only because I would have liked a little more backstory. It's apparently based on this book, which is based on a true story (and also is only $5.99 for Kindle at the time of this writing).
You part II is back on Netflix, also, and I started watching Daisy Jones and the Six on Prime. The funny story about Daisy Jones is that it's based on a book by Taylor Jenkins Reid, one of my favorite authors, and I generally love all her books, but really disliked that one; in fact, I DNF'ed it (did not finish). However, I always thought it would make a good TV show or movie, in the format which it's written, and I was right; I'm enjoying the TV show so far. I've also been continuing to watch Not Dead Yet (Hulu), but I stopped watching Perfect Match (Netflx) because I read online who won, and it's getting a little boring. I also started watching The Big Door Prize, starring Chris O'Dowd, on AppleTV+ screeners, and I'm really enjoying that; it will premiere on March 29th. - Video chatting with a CA blogger friend. Last week a book blogger friend and I got to video chat, which was nice because we hadn't properly (phone, video chat) caught up in a bit. It was sunny and mid-afternoon there and my power kept going on and off because of snowstorms there, but w we were able to switch to phone and then back to video chat once the power came back on.
- Recording videos for work. Struggling to find a 5th Friday Five this week so here's one—last Friday, I had a Zoom interview with a company about candy trends, and on Monday, my boss and I recorded our monthly video about the "best new products" that came out last month. By "best" we don't necessarily mean the tastiest or the most popular, but the ones that looked unique and caught our eye when we were posting them. I don't usually link to work stuff on here, but they're online; if anyone wants to see them, just email me.
