Somehow we are almost halfway through June. I took off a half day from work yesterday to see The Accidentals, one of my favorite bands, in Ann Arbor, and today I'm taking today off to hang out with an out-of-town friend who is visiting.

The Accidentals at Sonic Lunch, Ann Arbor |
What I've been up to this week:
- Seeing Taylor Jenkins Reid in Ann Arbor. Last Friday, a friend and I went to Rackham Auditorium (a UM building) to see one of my favorite authors, Taylor Jenkins Reid. Tickets were about $30, which IMO is a bargain since the hardcover copy of her new book is about that price (and a signed hardcover copy was included!). Her new book is called Atmosphere and I've been reading it this week—it's a little different than some of her others but it's very good. The conversation with her (it was a Q&A live on the Rackham stage) was very interesting, too ... this book focuses on NASA and she said how she was able to talk to a head honcho there to get some background for it (probably why it's so good). I have been to Rackham before, as well, but not in the last 10-15 years ... it's a lot nicer than Hill Auditorium, also a UM building (more legroom / larger seats).
- Seeing The Accidentals, also in Ann Arbor. It was a very Ann Arbor week for me—yesterday I went to see The Accidentals, one of my favorite bands, at Sonic Lunch in Ann Arbor, which takes place in Liberty Plaza. I've seen The Accidentals many times, one time even in Saugatuck, and they're always good. I ended up buying their new CD, which isn't even on Spotify yet (and then realized I can only play it in my car, LOL, and perhaps on an old MacBook, since none of my laptops have CD slots anymore ...) but I got to listen to it on the way home from Ann Arbor.
- Getting takeout/eating out. On Friday, before Ann Arbor, we got Shake Shack takeout, which is always delicious—I tried one of their summer shakes, which was basically an Oreo shake with funnel cake pieces, and it was good but I prefer their regular Cookies & Cream shake more. I also got a free burger, as they had a promotion going on that you could get one if you spend $10 (a side of fried pickles—new for them, and tasty—plus the shake was about $10-12). On Saturday, my MIL came to town, and one day we had Pink Garlic, via Doordash, and another day we had Mexican food, both of which were good. On Saturday, we had Noori chicken in Clawson, for my last official meal in my condo (see below). Yesterday, a friend and I tried a new place in Ann Arbor, called Toastique, which was pricey but very good (about $13 for my burrata toast, but beautiful plating).
- Cleaning out my condo. And oof, I don't recommend doing this at seven months pregnant! Most of my stuff was already gone, and thankfully my MIL and husband have been doing most of the heavy lifting—literally—but we had to pack up some odds and ends that were there, and then on Monday the movers came to take my furniture to where I now live with my husband (a house he bought a few years ago). It is nice to be reunited with my couch under the same roof, though! My condo closing is on Monday, which will be bittersweet; I bought it in Sept. 2016 so I've had it for almost nine years now.
- Getting condo stuff repaired. The inspection found some wires in the attic—which turned out not to be connected to anything—and also the fireplace wasn't working, which I found odd, as it's worked for the past nine years. Thankfully I was able to get two repair people down on Monday, as I had taken the day off work since the movers were coming, and both are now fine.
