We are already one week into June, and I need time to slow down a bit ... I'm heading to Ann Arbor with a friend later today to see the author Taylor Jenkins Reid speak at Rackham (UM campus), though, which I'm excited about, since I love her books.

Taylor Swift-themed cookies at a friend's birthday party |
What I've been up to this week:
- Attending a Taylor Swift-themed birthday party. One of my friends celebrated her birthday this weekend, and everything was Taylor Swift-themed, which was a lot of fun. We started off at her house, and then moved to the Novi library for an artwork hour (the party had both adults and kids there), then back to her house to eat the cookies pictured above. Attendees were encouraged to dress up like the theme—I wore my "Karma is a cat" t-shirt that I wore when I saw Taylor in concert a few years ago, at Ford Field, but others dressed like her album artwork themes, which was fun.
- Preparing to move. I bought my condo in Clawson in 2016, when I was looking for a place close to work, in Troy. Fast-forward to *nine* years later, I'm now married (and work from home!), and I've basically been living with my now-husband for the past two or so years. Most of my stuff is here, but all of my big furniture (couch, TV's + stands, kitchen table, etc.) is still at my condo, essentially making it a very expensive storage unit. I put it up on the market a week or two ago and got an offer, and I just scheduled movers for this Monday ... which means my husband and I will be making space here, for some of my stuff, and putting the rest in the basement. I didn't know the process would be so fast, or that it would be this week, so this weekend is going to be very busy; I still have a few odds and ends at the condo too, like some plates and cups, for when I would occasionally stay overnight, so we'll head there this weekend to pack that stuff up, first.
- Seeing Mission Impossible: The Final Reckoning in theaters. I've heard rumors that this is the last M:I movie, or at the least, the very last with Tom Cruise, and it was a fun time, although not my favorite of the series; I'd give it 3.5/5 stars, with the caveat that I did fall asleep for about ten minutes during it. I'd like to rewatch all of the M:I movies now, and apparently Paramount+ has all of them, with Hulu and Prime having *some* of them, too.
- Getting takeout. On Friday, we got Jet's takeout—Jet's had sent us a coupon for a free small 4-squre pizza with one topping, and we also paid for their BBQ chicken pizza deep dish, which ended up being delicious. That night, we also got Pink Garlic via Doordash, too, which is always tasty. On Saturday, my parents and I did NOT do pizza (lol), but Tubby's, which was also pretty good; I had about $20 in gift certificates that I had won a while back, that we used. On Sunday, my husband and I got Thai via Doordash, from Thai Fresh in Northville, and while it was very good, with big portions, it was a bit too spicy for me; generally mild is good, but this was more like a REAL Thai mild (ask me how I know, lol; I went to Thailand in 2019 for work) vs. an "American" Thai mild, so next time I'd get no spice if ordering again from this restaurant.
- Container Store pickup. Before the movie on Tuesday, we headed to The Container Store, in Novi, as my husband had ordered some containers for us to organize/move things. What I DIDN'T know is that if you order online, for in-store pickup, you get 20% off you order, with NO maximum, I believe, which is a pretty good deal. They also still have curbside pickup, so we did that, before Emagine Novi, and it was very easy and didn't take a lot of time.
