This week went by fast, because I was in Dallas from Sunday through Wednesday for work. Not much going on this weekend except I am meeting a friend for lunch, which I'm looking forward to.

What I've been up to this week:
- Work trip to Dallas. Both the conference and my accommodations were at the Hyatt Regency DFW, so I only got to leave the airport once (more on that below). I originally had an 8:30am flight that Sunday, and I got to the airport around 6:30am ... I was in line around 6:45 waiting to check my bag when I got a text saying the flight was CANCELLED, and they had rebooked me on a 9pm flight, getting in at 11pm. Kind of a problem when my meetings started at 8am the next day. I ended up rebooking and taking a 10:30am flight to Atlanta, then 4pm to DFW (Dallas Fort Worth airport) from there, but because of that I missed the Retail Rodeo, which would have had me going to a few grocery stores in the Dallas area. Thankfully on my way home, my DFW-DTW nonstop flight was not canceled, so that was a lot easier than DTW-ATL-DFW was. Otherwise, my work trip was fun—it was for ECRM so it was kind of like "speed dating" in that I met with a lot of companies to see what products they had that were new ... Monday I had 16 appointments, Tuesday I had nine, and Wednesday was the last day so I had maybe four or five.
- Seeing a Dallas friend. I have a Birthright friend that lives in Dallas—we actually met up in 2024 when I was there for SNX, a snack conference—but this time it was trickier meeting up because she lives downtown, and that's about a 30-min. Uber ride from the airport (aka $$$). She ended up taking the train in and I took a 10-min. Uber ride from the airport to meet her for dinner, which was pretty tasty, and it was nice seeing her, as well.
- Getting some good food. My friend and I went to Gloria's Latin Cuisine, which I think is a local chain, and I had the cocktail pictured below. We also split pupusas, and I had a skirt steak with chimichurri plus quatro leches cake (not tres leches, but quatro, ha), which was good but a little too sweet. Otherwise, I had all conference food, which was also pretty good—we had tacos one day for lunch, chicken another day, and dinner the last day was steak and gnocchi. The exception is that Sunday night when I got in, I did Doordash, and got Whataburger, which was also decent—not quite as good as In-N-Out, and I saw there was one ten minutes away, but In-N-Out doesn't usually deliver, I've found. I will have to wait for Vegas in May (also a work trip) to get my fix for that.
- Pumping while on the go. This was my first time bringing pumping supplies with me, and I was nervous it would be hard to pump. I usually pump every 2-3 hours, but on my trip was only able to do 5-6, depending ... DTW airport had a pretty nice pumping room, and Atlanta had a Mamava pod, which was pretty techy (you unlocked it from the app) but kinda smelled like urine. DFW also had a cute nursing/pumping room, but I had to trek there, as it was in the "satellite" E Gates (think B or C terminal at DTW, getting there from the A terminal ...). I also had packed some bottles and bags, plus ice packs and a huge cooler that I bought, and overall it kept things cold, but was heavy/unwieldy to carry. I learned what worked and didn't work, though, and now am more prepared for my next work trip, which is in about two weeks to Orlando.
- Watching TV shows. I had more free time than usual so I watched the America's Next Top Model documentary on Netflix, which was a blast from the past—I used to watch that show all the time in college (2005-09) and it sounds like they might be doing a new season now, too, which I would be interested in. I also caught up on Love is Blind, and I watched a few plane movies, one of which I'll be doing a giveaway for soon (Is This Thing On? movie). I am still two weeks behind on Hijack, though, and also I need to watch this week's Shrinking.
