The Friday Five, 5/29/26: 5 things I've been up to this week

I've still been pretty sick over the last week and now my husband is sick too, so, weirdly enough, the only non-sick one in the family is Baby K (unusual for her, she brings home daycare germs).

Box of Crumbl Cookies
Surprise-ish delivery from Crumbl

What I've been up to this week:
  1. Still being sick. This weekend was not fun, and it was nice to have a day off work for Memorial Day on Monday, but I went back to the doctor on Wednesday because my ears were still driving me crazy—they felt like someone put water in them and then stuffed them with cotton. Turns out I still have an ear infection, so I'm on a different antibiotic for that, now, and hopefully it's helping.
  2. Surprise-ish Crumbl delivery. We write about Crumbl for work—this time it was about their new/revamped chocolate chip cookie recipe—and sometimes they ask me if I want samples (um, yes, lol) and they deliver to me, which is great, but don't always tell me when they will be delivered ... Tuesday I took the day off work and walked outside to get a package and lo and behold, there was a Crumbl delivery! I received (bottom to top) the new chocolate chip cookie, a strawberry cheesecake cookie, an Oreo bar, and (in the pink bag) the new Thins, this case S'mores, which were fantastic.
  3. Watching Ladies First. Yesterday I watched the new Netflix movie called Ladies First, with Sacha Baron Cohen, and it was cute and light; probably not something I need to watch again, but I'd give it 3.5/5, Rosamund Pike was fun in it also.
  4. Watching TV shows. The *series* finale of Hacks is this week so I'm looking forward to that. The Four Seasons is back on Netflix as of yesterday, I think, and I watched two episodes yesterday, one of which while pumping. I started the Dan Levy show Bad Mistakes on Netflix, finally, which is a lot of fun, and Maximum Pleasure Guaranteed, on AppleTV, which kinda has the same vibe as Bad Mistakes, actually. The Testaments also wrapped up this week, on Hulu, and was a fantastic season finale—it's already been renewed for season two.
  5. Canceling plans. We were supposed to have brunch with two friends and their 9-month-old son tomorrow but unfortunately canceled. A friend's birthday party is also Sunday and I am still hoping to go to that with Baby K, but we'll see.
