The Friday Five, 9/13/19: 5 things I've been up to this week

This week has been exhausting and I no longer know what time zone I'm in ... I think my body still thinks it's on Pacific time (3 hours behind the Midwest/East Coast) and I didn't fall asleep until 1:15am last night. So I should rest up this weekend, right? Nope ... headed to Ann Arbor with my boyfriend tonight and we are staying overnight, we wanted to do this last month but then he unexpectedly had to work.

In-N-Out, Las Vegas
In-N-Out is my favorite for burgers!

What I've been up to this week:
  1. Traveling. I was in Vegas from Sunday through Wednesday for IBIE, a bakery convention, and I'll be back in another 1.5 weeks (same hotel, too - Renaissance) for a packaging/equipment convention. I love Vegas and I hadn't been back since June 2017, though. The weather was super hot but I still ran around a bit after I was done working ... I saw KA at MGM Grand, which although impressive, wasn't really my cup of tea; I got food at a few of my favorite places including Giordano's and In-N-Out; and I got to see the Bellagio fountains three times, which are my favorite.
  2. Seeing movies. Last Friday I saw IT Chapter Two which I would give maybe 4/5 stars to; I felt that it was scarier than the last installment, though. On Saturday, I saw Angel Has Fallen, and that was maybe a 3 or 3.5/5 star movie for me; it's one I didn't think much about after, and I took a snoozle during it too.
  3. Watching UM football almost lose. UM football always likes to give its fans heart attacks, and they beat Army last week but in overtime ... thanks, UM.
  4. Attending IBIE in Vegas. The International Bakery Industry Exposition is a tri-annual event, and the last one was in 2016 when I had been at this job for only a few months. The Las Vegas Convention Center is HUGE and I got in about 16,000 to 19,000 steps every day, according to my Fitbit. You will never go hungry at IBIE, though, as there are plenty of samples all over the place (mostly bakery, but other booths had fried chicken, etc. too).
  5. Eating good food. In Vegas, I had no sitdown meals though :( I dislike eating by myself and also I usually have to use the bathroom immediately after eating, and I always think the waiters are going to think I ran off without paying, lol. I did have Giordanos and In-N-Out, as I mentioned, though, as well as some pizza at the Paris hotel, oddly (they also have sushi ... you'd think it'd be mostly European food). Last Friday, my boyfriend and I had Noodles for dinner before the movie, too, and on Saturday we went to Granite City - they do happy hour from 12-5pm on Saturdays which is great.
