Movie Review and Digital Code GIVEAWAY: Let Him Go {ends 2/7}

Official movie synopsis:
Following the loss of their son, a retired sheriff and his wife leave their Montana ranch to rescue their young grandson from the clutches of a dangerous family living off the grid in the Dakotas. (courtesy: Google)

^ To say any more would spoil the plot of the movie. I will say this: this movie starts off very slowly, with the death of a retired sheriff's son (Costner in the sheriff's role), and later the son's wife remarries. The man she chooses to remarry isn't a good guy—Lane's character sees him slapping the wife and also the child around—and later he and his wife abscond with their grandson.

My parents and I actually really liked this movie until about halfway in, when the violence started (hence the R rating). I thought overall it was pretty good—definitely not one you'll be thinking about the next day, but some of the end scenes had me glued to the TV. A few things were a bit "convenient" the way they wrapped up, but overall, I thought the ending was interesting.

3 stars out of 5.
