The Friday Five, 4/21/23: 5 things I've been up to this week

Not only am I extremely tired today, because I slept from about 11:30-5:30am at my sleep study (#3 for those who are counting: this one was a titration study), but when I got home I realized the mask they had me sleep in all night doesn't fit my CPAP machine. I'm hoping I'm wrong and I'm just missing something with the tubing, but I will have to investigate it later. I also have a bruised face from the mask so I'm not happy about that either.

What I've been up to this week:
  1. Trip to Vegas. That's what most of these will be about this week, since I was in Vegas from Friday through Tuesday, for a friend's wedding on Sunday. From Friday through Sunday we stayed downtown at El Cortez, which surprisingly was very nice—this was my first time staying downtown—and from Sunday through Tuesday we stayed at the Bellagio, for $0 actually. It worked out to be $0 because my boyfriend and I each combined one free comp night from the myVegas game, and I also have MGM Gold status because I matched from Caesars Diamond back in January, right before mine expired, which means no resort fees. (otherwise it would've been $50 per night, which is still not bad for Bellagio!)
  2. Eating tasty foods. Best meals of the trip were probably Mon Ami Gabi, at Paris—I love sitting outside there because you can see and hear the Bellagio fountains across the street—and maybe Pizza Rock, downtown. We had a BOGO for the Bellagio buffet, and I had been once before, I think in 2009, but unfortunately, other than the desserts, it was just okay overall (see my reel here).
  3. Sightseeing in Vegas. We walked around Fremont Street a bit the two days we were downtown, and we also went to the Mob Museum, which was my first time there—make sure to look online for coupons, I found a 20% off coupon at a random website so instead of $29.99 per person, we saved about $6 per ticket. I found it to be very informative and I liked it a lot, it's at the old Vegas courthouse too (the original courthouse).
  4. Seeing David Copperfield and being a part of the show! I saw David Copperfield's magic show in the early 2000's with my parents, and my boyfriend wanted to see it, so we walked over to the MGM Grand on Monday night for that. There was a part of the show where he threw a frisbee into the audience, and it was flying straight at my face so I caught it. He then said "pass it to your man" (boyfriend, who was sitting to my right) and he asked him a few numbers, for the magic trick, and also "boxers or briefs?" which was funny. Later, an assistant came up to my boyfriend and asked him to go on stage to finish assisting with the magic trick. Definitely a fun experience, and the show overall was very good.
  5. Checking out the Bellagio conservatory (gardens). Bellagio switches out their conservatory theme every month or every few weeks, I believe, and this month's was a spring/love theme, and was GORGEOUS—they really outdid themselves. Check out my reel here.
