The Friday Five, 9/5/25: 5 things I've been up to this week

Well, we are definitely into September—the weather has been a lot cooler, which I've been liking, as I was not a fan of the 90 degree temps all summer (especially when being pregnant!).

What I've been up to this week:
  1. Getting tasty takeout/delivery. My other in-laws came to visit this past weekend (FIL and SIL, from Indiana) and we got Buddy's takeout one day, which was very tasty, including the Spicy Italian pizza pictured above ... I can't really do spicy foods but this is not very spicy, IMO. My MIL, husband, and I got takeout from The Great Greek (WB) on Wednesday but unfortunately my tzatziki was ordered on the side, and they forgot to include it—that's one of the best parts of the gyro. On Thursday, we got Potbelly's for lunch, which I hadn't had in a while; I used to really like their pizza subs, until they started adding more to it (I like it with just mushrooms, now it has mushrooms, pepperoni, meatballs, and capicola), but I decided to try their Italian sub and it was pretty good, albeit no Jersey Mike's. Finally, for dinner yesterday we met up with friends at their house and got Shake Shack delivery, which was delicious—fun fact, apparently you can order delivery IN the app, and if you spend more than $40, it's free, which beats Doordash pricing.
  2. Hanging out with in-laws. My MIL has been here since we came back from the hospital three weeks ago, but unfortunately is leaving on Tuesday. My FIL (her husband) and my SIL came in from Saturday to Monday to hang out and meet Baby K, which was fun; we also had a small cookout on Sunday night, and my husband made bratwurst and burgers.
  3. Watching TV shows. I *finally* caught up on this week's The Summer I Turned Pretty episode, which was good because I kept seeing spoilers everywhere (looking at you especially, Threads ...). I started watching The Runarounds on Prime which is excellent, although I'm about 5/6 of the way through episode two (I mostly only have time for TV nowadays when I'm pumping), and I finished Love is Blind UK, as well—the reunion was quite spicy, with some shocking/interesting moments. Wednesday part two is back on Netflix so my husband and I want to watch that eventually, too.
  4. Crohn's infusion/driving for the first time in three weeks. On Saturday, I had my Crohn's infusion, and I got to drive myself somewhere for the first time in about three weeks—it had been two and a half weeks since my C-section, and they ask you to not drive anywhere for two weeks. I also picked up lunch for my husband, MIL, and I afterwards, too. My infusions are never fun but it was nice to get out of the house for a bit and drive.
  5. Getting my car fixed. No relation to #4 here ... maybe a month or so ago I noticed there was paint peeling from my 2014 Honda Accord. Pretty odd because at the time I had not driven it in a few days, so we don't know how that happened. I finally brought it in to a local collision shop to get repaired this week, so we will be one car down for about a week or so.
