The Friday Five, 2/13/26: 5 things I've been up to this week

It's Friday the 13th, and I'm working till around 2pm today (I have a doctor appt. at 2:30pm) and then I'm off to Dallas for work on Sunday.

Phantom of the Opera, Detroit
Phantom of the Opera, Detroit Opera House

What I've been up to this week:
  1. Phantom of the Opera at the Detroit Opera House. Phantom is one of my two favorite musicals (the other being Waitress) so I was super excited for this one. My friend who was supposed to babysit unfortunately texted me a few days before saying she was sick, but thankfully my parents were able to pinch-hit as babysitters. They've revamped the special effects a bit this time and the musical was REALLY good—it'll be at the Opera House until February 15th, and I highly recommend it.
  2. Getting takeout/delivery. We only had a short time window before Phantom on Friday, so I picked up Potbelly for us—after ordering from them the week before, they had given me a free sandwich deal in the app. On Sunday I was supposed to have lunch with a friend but I was feeling sick so we have postponed it for a few weeks. We got Brome delivered over the weekend, which was exciting—I didn't know they just opened a Novi location, I've been a fan of the Dearborn one for a long time—and last night we got Noori delivered. I think we also got El Patio at one point there, too, but that may have been the week before. We also got Shesh Besh delivered, from down the street, and they have really good shawarma/chicken kabob sandwiches.
  3. Watching TV shows. Love is Blind is back on Netflix this week so I've been binging that—six episodes are up. I also watched Tell Me Lies, which only has one episode left (season finale is next week), which is crazy, and I need to catch up on Hijack, Shrinking, Industry, and, if there's a new one this week, Shifting Gears—no Abbott Elementary this week, unfortunately.
  4. Prepping for my work trip. This is what I call a "speed dating" trip—I meet with about 10+ companies per day to see what products are new/what they are showcasing, so my schedule is rather intense. I don't expect to see much of Dallas, unfortunately, because the conference is at one of the airport hotels, but it's supposed to be good weather so hopefully I'll get outside a little bit. I also have a Birthright friend that lives in downtown Dallas and we are figuring out how/where we could meet up for dinner—last time I was in Dallas for work, I was staying downtown, so it was easy to take an Uber to meet her, but DFW airport is a 30-min. Uber ride from downtown.
  5. Doing errands. Not super exciting, but I need a fifth item here, haha. Last Saturday, my husband needed a package dropped at the UPS Store, so I did that and then went to ALDI to get us some milk, OJ, etc. I've also gone to Panera once or twice this week after appointments to use my Sip Club, and I've been trying out some of their hot teas, which has been nice, since I've had a cold or something this week.
