The Friday Five, 4/10/26: 5 things I've been up to this week

This week seemed to go by really slow, compared to last week—unfortunately, I have not kicked the cough I mentioned last week, but yesterday I had a doctor's appointment and got some meds for it, at least.

What I've been up to this week:

  1. Seeing a movie at the theater. I was debating whether I wanted to take Good Friday off or Easter Monday or neither—I ended up taking Easter Monday off, and since I hadn't seen a movie since my birthday in January, I wanted to go to the theater. I saw The Super Mario Galaxy Movie since I'm a big Mario fan and overall I enjoyed it, although I'll admit I fell asleep for about a half-hour during it since I was super tired that day. It was fun to be back at the theater again though and hopefully I'll make it back there soon—I basically can only go during the week if Baby K is in daycare.
  2. Getting delivery and takeout. We got delivery from La Saj, in Troy, via Doordash, and I used to really love that restaurant, but unfortunately my chicken in my sandwich was a bit charred for my liking, so that was kind of a bummer; my husband liked his kafta, though, and we also got some garlic and pita, which was good. I got us takeout from The Great Greek, on Monday—use code BOGO to get buy 1 get 1 free gyros—and last night, we were tired, so we ordered Pink Garlic via Doordash for dinner, which is always tasty.
  3. Watching TV shows. If you're a fan of The Handmaid's Tale, Hulu now has The Testaments—I read the book when it came out, I want to say in 2018 or 2019, and enjoyed it, but I wasn't sure if I'd like the TV show or not, since I'm such a huge HMT fan. It's really good so far though—it's from the POV of Agnes, aka Hannah (June's child), and also a few other girls—and Hulu has three episodes up, so I'm curious to see where it goes this season. I also watched Shrinking and Scrubs this week, and I binged Watching You, also on Hulu, with Aisha Dee from The Bold Type, which was really good—very similar to a movie called Drop, with her Bold Type costar Meghann Fahy, actually, and I did not see that coming.
  4. Errands. Not the most exciting, but I made the most of my day off on Monday to do errands, after the movie—Target is doing a buy one get one half off formula sale right now, on the kind we use, so I headed there, and also Costco for gas, and Meijer. I was having an issue where the Target app wouldn't let me log in, though, but apparently you can give your phone number ... there were a bunch of other issues too, where my coupons weren't working, which was also frustrating. (very first-world problems, but still made for a frustrating experience)
  5. Seeing the doctor. I finally make a doctor's appointment because my cough isn't going away. My husband and I are down to one car this week (long story there) and he had my car yesterday so my parents actually came over to pick me up and take me to the doctor's. I'm on some meds now so hopefully that will help, especially since we have a trip planned next week.
