This week went by pretty fast and I have zero plans this weekend—hoping to maybe sleep a bit, because I haven't gotten a lot of sleep this week, with Baby K waking up a bit.

What I've been up to this week:
- Walled Lake fireworks. My husband, parents, and I go to this every year, because it basically takes place outside my parents' condo. With a 10-month-old, I wasn't entirely sure if she'd be okay with it, or start sobbing, and it was kind of a mix of both ... we got her headphones (ear protection) but she was crying when the first few fireworks went off, because it was rather loud and they were basically right after another. After we moved back a bit further, back to the condo, she saw the lights and seemed to enjoy that, it seemed ... we will try again on July 4th weekend, as some friends have invited us to their neighborhood display.
- Getting tasty foods. Yesterday, I worked in the office and I had a sandwich from La Pecora Nera, its pesto one, and we got Noori via Doordash for dinner. We had La Marsa earlier in the week too, also from Doordash, and on Tuesday, a friend was in town so we tried At Anano's, a Georgian restaurant at 13 and Orchard Lake, which was delicious and I had never been there before or heard of it. For Tuesday dinner, the friend and my husband and I had Buddy's takeout, too, and last Sunday I got my husband and I Green Lantern (Southfield) takeout, because they had sent me an email for a free cheese bread.
- Visiting with a friend. I have a friend whom I met on Birthright back in 2018, and we have kept in touch since then. Her family is moving to Germany soon, so she wanted to meet Baby K and also visit with me; she lives in Chicago currently, so she took the train in. However, it was three hours delayed, because it hit and killed a cyclist, near Kalamazoo ... my friend got in at 3am instead of midnight, the hotel had cancelled her reservation, and she had to find a new one super quickly. After all this, though, we were able to hang with Baby K on Tuesday, which was a lot of fun, and we tried out At Anano's (see above) which was also good. I drove my friend to the Troy train station on Wednesday AM, as well, so that we would have more time together, and it was so nice that she was able to come visit; the last time we had seen each other was in June 2025 at my baby shower.
- Working in the office. As I mentioned above, I worked in the office yesterday; my company requires us to do one in-office day per month, and I usually choose more near the end of the month. I was supposed to have lunch with a friend who lives in Birmingham, but unfortunately she had to cancel last minute ... La Pecora Nera is always tasty, though. I also like that I can walk places; I went to Paris Baguette, as well, to get some pastries, and sometimes I have gift cards because we write about them for work and they are generous.
- Watching TV and movies. I had the entire new season of The Way Home on my parents' DVR so I've been binging that. Maximum Pleasure Guaranteed was good this week, as was the final two episodes of Not Suitable for Work (and I really hope they renew it! I love me a good Mindy Kaling show). The Bear is back on Hulu this week, so I hope to watch that eventually, and so is Sugar, on AppleTV.
