The Friday Five, 7/31/26: 5 things I've been up to this week

I feel like July went by FAST, and tomorrow it'll be August: Baby K's birthday month (and my Birth Day month). Craziness.

What I've been up to this week:
  1. BBQ with friends. One of my husband's friends invited us over for a BBQ last Friday night, and they have a SUPER nice outdoor setup—we ate under their gazebo, and there were twinkling lights and also they have a TV mounted to the top of it. I had ribs, chicken, potatoes, and cornbread—my husband actually made the cornbread, I helped by cleaning up after—and Baby K had some of the meats and also tried banana for the first time, which she liked. We got home way too late (around midnight, I think) but it was a lot of fun.
  2. Watching 72 Hours, on Netflix. This is the new Kevin Hart movie and it looked like dumb fun, so I watched it the other day ... and it was. I'd give it a 3.5/5 and I found myself laughing out loud during a lot of it, so it was a good time.
  3. Watching TV shows. Married at First Sight has been releasing episodes in batches of three, on Peacock, which is a LOT of TV to watch, but is always fun. Lucky on AppleTV has been excellent, and today the Cape Fear finale was released, so I'm hoping to watch that. I also binged and finished The Ultimatum, on Netflix, and that was a crazy season this time. Best of all, Who Wants to Be a Millionaire? is back on Hulu/ABC, and I love that show—my parents and I used to watch it when I was in high school, when Regis was the host, and I very much enjoy watching the celebrity edition that Jimmy Kimmel now hosts.
  4. Baby playdate. I met up with a friend, her 14-month-old, and Baby K at Yoz Yogurt in West Bloomfield last Sunday—it was a little chaotic because they didn't really have room to park strollers, and I didn't see any high chairs either, but the froyo was good and it was nice to see my friend and her son.
  5. Work videos. I had two this week, one with Haribo to meet its new American president/CEO and another with Pladis (aka Flipz, Godiva, etc.) to talk about their new products.
