The Friday Five, 7/19/24: 5 things I've been up to this week

Image
This has been a super long week, so I'm glad it's Friday. Unfortunately, I have my Crohn's infusion tomorrow, so I still have to be up early, but I can take a nap afterwards. Comerica Park, Detroit What I've been up to this week: Tigers game at Comerica Park . I actually got tickets for this through work—HI-CHEW, a candy brand, had a few activations (promotions) going on and asked if I would be able to attend. Our seats were great; it was a very hot day, so we did spend a lot of time in the concourse too. HI-CHEW was super generous and gave us some "Tigers fun money," as the tickets said, so we were able to get free concessions, and were able to ride the Ferris wheel and merry-go-round an unlimited amount of times, too, although we unfortunately only made it to the merry-go-round. The Tigers ended up winning in (overtime? 10th inning) over the LA Dodgers. This was only my second time EVER at Comerica (first time was in 2014 I think, for a game!) so it was a lo...

The Friday Five, 2/16/24: 5 things I've been up to this week

This has seemed like a busy week, and tonight we are going to Holland for a wedding tasting tomorrow ... and then Sunday I'm going to Jacksonville, FL for work, so basically I will unpack and then repack my bags.  Duel in the D, at LCA What I've been up to this week: Duel in the D, at Little Caesars Arena (LCA). I had blogger tickets for this, and we went last year too—last year we had lower bowl seats, general admission, which were great, and this year we had upper bowl seats, which are still nice but definitely less leg room. We went with four of my fiance's friends, and one of their babies, and it was still a fun game even though UM lost to MSU, 3-2 (last year they won in overtime!). I got to wear one of my "vintage" UM football t-shirts also (the official game shirt, from 2007 ... lol!), and I saw some of the UM band was there ... I did some quick math, and if they were seniors, they were probably born in 2002, and if freshman, 2006, which is wild (I graduated...

The Friday Five, 4/14/23: 5 things I've been up to this week

By the time you read this I will probably be on a plane to Vegas—I'm going there today for a friend's wedding on Sunday. We're actually staying downtown for two nights, which is new for me, and on the Strip for two nights, and it should be a fun time. Pineapple margarita at Bakersfield, Detroit What I've been up to this week: Weekend in Indiana. My boyfriend had Friday and Monday off work for the Easter holiday, and I took both days off as well, and we went to Indiana from Friday through Sunday to see his parents and sister—his dad and his sister both have April birthdays, so it was more of a birthday celebration then Easter. It was a good time and we DIDN'T have to drive back on the same day (in December, his furnace stopped working so we unexpectedly had to leave at like midnight and drive the five hours home), so that was also nice. My first-ever Red Wings game . I was supposed to go to a Red Wings game in December 2021 but got COVID and was not able to go, so th...

This has been a tough week, even though I'm now COVID-free. Starting in November, I did two sleep studies, which showed I had mild sleep apnea, and I decided to try a CPAP machine because of that—I never get good sleep and I never feel rested. It is a LOT to get used to, and I started it Sunday but yesterday (Thursday) has been the only night I was able to wear it for the whole night (7 hours); however, I still woke up multiple times, which was one of my original problems, so if that continues I may not continue with it.  Duel in the D, at Little Caesars Arena What I've been up to this week: Duel in the D hockey game at LCA.  A few days after I tested negative for COVID, my boyfriend, two friends, and I went to see UM vs. MSU hockey at Duel in the D at Little Caesars Arena (LCA). I had only been to one other hockey game in my life—ironically, also a UM game, while I was a student—and this ended up being fun. UM won in overtime with only about a half-second left, so that was pr...
